If you want to contact your senators to push them to convict the traitor that lead an insurrection against the United States, I have put together a statement. I’m sure by now you know I like to be short and concise. This statement is significantly longer. Something you would not know is that I normally would fax or mail my statements, because I’m not the greatest speakers and as a consequence, I’m also not the swiftest speaker. I won’t go into further detail, however, this time I actually did call my senators. The reason I bring this up is because of the time limit for leaving your message. I was at the final sentence when I was told I have 11 seconds left. I probably could have finished the thought, but I thought the remainder was significant enough to try to fit it in. I’ll italicize the portion I left off due to my time constraints so you can adjust what you say or just be prepared to rush through that line.
I am calling on you to convict Mr. Donald J. Trump for the insurrection he tried to lead on January 6, 2021. On December 19, 2020, Mr. Trump sent out a tweet inviting people to come to DC which said: “Statistically impossible to have lost the 2020 Election. Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!” On January 6, 2021 at this gathering, Mr. Trump call on those who attend to “We fight! We fight like Hell! And if you don’t fight like Hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore!” He then went on to direct them: “We’re going to walk down Pennsylvania Ave. I love Pennsylvania Ave., and we’re going to the Capital and we’re going to try and give the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country. So let’s walk down Pennsylvania Ave.”
At this behest, those gathered rampage through our capital vandalizing it. However, their crimes did not end with the destruction of federal property. They also stole documents of unknown levels of confidentiality and brutally assault police officers! These beatings lead to officers needing urgent medical attention for lacerations and fractured bones. One officer may even lose an eye. Furthermore, one officer was murdered!
These facts are sufficient to convict Mr. Trump and he deserves to suffer the punishment that come with impeachment, which include, but not limited to, removal from office. It also gives the remedy to bar individuals from holding and enjoying any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States. Mr. Trump deserves to lose all benefit he was given for holding office after he violated his oath of office while he was beholden to faithfully execute our Constitution.
